The event continued with an candid and authentic fireside chat moderated by Anthony Maher, complete with rapid-fire questions that gave tremendous insight into the successful minds of two of Greater Philadelphia’s tech ecosystem champions: Serial entrepreneur (and Ambler native), Ned Moore- Chairman and CEO of Clutch, and highly recognized investor, Michael Golden- formerly of GSI Commerce. Sponsored by a Men- nonite church, he and his family came to the Unit- ed States and settled in Lancaster almost two years ago.Last evening, a great crowd came together to celebrate the grand opening of 1776 at Ambler Yards, Montgomery County’s newest entrepreneurial ecosystem. “This has become my second home,” said Ahmad Khilo, 20 “It’ s changed all of my life, especially school and graduation.” Khilo is a refuge of Syr- ia, who for three years was in a camp in Turkey, where he got no school- ing. “That is much needed at a time like this.” Students from all over the world come to study at Lancaster Mennonite and they are made to feel welcome. Before the ceremony, Moyer said she wanted to emphasize the class motto in her speech: “What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.” “LMS plays a signifi- cant role in shaping the character and soul of its students,” she said. She urged the gradu- ates to go out into the world with an open hand of love, generosity and compassion, rather than a clenched fist of greed. One hundred and fifty students from 22 coun- tries across the globe graduated Saturday morning from Lancaster Mennonite High School, ready to go out into the world and become “a lo- cal and global commu- nity of learners who seek the truth.” Those were the words of Elaine Moyer, senior director with Menno- nite Education Agency, who spoke to the high school’s 75th graduating class.
